A couple of years ago I set myself a goal.
The goal was to create a life that I loved, that felt like a dream.
It had nothing to do with earning a certain amount of money, owning a certain car, or living in a certain place - I'd long since learnt that these things add little to your life.
For me, it was to:
🟢Earn an income doing something I'd happily do for free
🟢Spend my time helping people in some way
🟢Have the energy to bring my best self to other people
🟢Have the time to see people, and to pursue hobbies such as running, gyming and playing guitar. I assumed it wasn't possible for a long time
See I quite enjoyed my job.
But it wasn't what I really felt called to do.
You know when you have that ache that something needs to change, but you don’t know where to start?
You kind of just coast along, don’t you?
And then wake up several years later wondering what happened…
And in far too many cases, regretting not taking more positive action.
I meet so many people who are heading towards retirement age, and wish they could go back and change how they spent their time.
Working a job that was comfortable yet sapped the life from them, robbing them of their best years.
Don’t do that.
There will never be a ‘good’ time to make a change.
It will always be scary and uncomfortable.
You’ll never have the financial position you’d like before you make changes.
It’s about identity, goals and actions.
Work out who you are and what lights you up
Decide a life that you'd like to live
Start creating a pathway to getting there
